  • Located in Bavaria, marked by 2,000 years of history, beginning with the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurèle, who established a camp in 179 a.d., the city ranked heritage of humanity by UNESCO. The stone bridge that crosses the Danube with 16 arches was built in the 12th century. Such a construction at this time is, in itself, an unusual feat. He gave an economic benefit to the city that could trade with several regions (Italy, Alps, Bohemia). See in our time and think that the Crusaders of Emperor Barbarossa borrowed in the middle ages is rather impressive. A little further, we see a mural done in 1573 representing David slaying Goliath on the wall of a building built in the 13th century. Along the beautiful medieval alleys, we reach the Cathedral in the Gothic style flamboyant with its two bell towers, amounting to more than one hundred meters to the sky. The construction of the Cathedral St-Pierre began in the 13th century and lasted for 600 years, it is one of the symbols of the city. The inside is huge even though a bit dark, and reveals a beautiful crypt where the Bishops of Regensburg are buried. We go out through a side door and find the old chapel (Alte Kapelle). Very beautiful rococo chapel with its golden stucco white walls and ceilings comes fortunately lighten. Nice visit of this small town.

  • The driving situation is exhausting like at any old place, since many one-way streets and narrow streets and Plätze.Stau pre-programmed. If you necessarily want to go to the old town, at least choose the Peter's way car park. Otherwise Arcaden Center or Danube Mall and then walk into the old town ca 10 20Minuten maximum. The whole city is really worth seeing. Beneficial, because most of the time Kopfsteinpflaster.Tagestouren suitable and then often come back and over again discover new boots. Only disruptive but some of the sights distance keeps many ship tourists, and these visits until late afternoon it is. As I said - the old town is worth a visit. Have fun during your visit to the northern city Italiens.Auch recommended a guided tour of the city mouse.
