4.1/5 based on 65+ reviews on the web
Discover the opulent interiors of one of Germany's finest Baroque buildings, Schloss Favorite, the oldest of the so-called "porcelain palaces." Once a pleasure and hunting palace used by the widow of Louis William, an imperial general and ruler of Baden, the castle now houses a large collection of Chinese porcelain and lacquered ornamental objects. Originally only used for several weeks a year, the castle grounds became an idyllic setting for extravagant concerts, banquets, and hunting parties. Today, the palace is open to visitors, offering not only a look at the world's largest collection of porcelain, but also a rare insight into the lives of Europe's wealthy rulers. Be sure to spend a little time strolling through the palace's sprawling English gardens. Check online for opening times, guided tours, and ticket prices. • A really neat Castle, the one to the walk invites. The Cafe has excellent cakes and pies. I've seen rarely so pretty looking cakes. This Cafe is sure worth a visit, it was also very well attended. The Spanish Almond Cake was very yummy and easy!

  • A nice discovery! Each piece is steeped in history. The furniture and the walls remained intact. It was not expected to see so many treasures.

  • It seemed nice, but the whole outside was wrapped up in construction so we were only there for about 10 minutes. We didn't try to go inside, so I don't know if it's still open but I would assume it is as there were people there.
  • Another beautiful castle of Rastatt. With extensive gardens and a quality architecture, this castle worth visiting.
  • Very pretty interior, but visit requires guided tour in German only.
  • The baroque castle houses a veritable porcelain collection and is nestled in a landscaped park in the style of an English landscape garden. In good weather, or on free days pretty crowded, regional high-volume location for wedding photography.

  • To run when the weather always good to a small round or to use the great lawn to relax or play.
