Altstadt Quedlinburg, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, is one of the best-preserved medieval and Renaissance towns in Europe and spans 80 hectares (198 acres). Stroll through the cobbled streets to admire the 1,200 half-timbered buildings from the 14th to 20th century. Visit the Church of St. Servatius, considered to be a Romanesque architectural masterpiece, where you can see the graves of the first German King, King Henry I, and his wife, Mathilde. • Nice old town. The city centre is superbly renovated within the last few years. Since it was drizzling the whole time, we spent only a few hours in the city. There was not much atmosphere in the cafés-and certainly not outside. When the sun shines, it will be an entirely different matter-for example, to sit in the square and enjoy a pint of beer.

  • All the beautiful buildings are within easy reach. They are in very good condition and compete for the most beautiful facade. You can go walking along canals and always got something to discover. A very good tip is: look behind you and suddenly you have sometimes once a magnificent view from a different angle. Yes here would you like to wake up and explore. Highly recommended!
