Altstadt Quedlinburg, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, is one of the best-preserved medieval and Renaissance towns in Europe and spans 80 hectares (198 acres). Stroll through the cobbled streets to admire the 1,200 half-timbered buildings from the 14th to 20th century. Visit the Church of St. Servatius, considered to be a Romanesque architectural masterpiece, where you can see the graves of the first German King, King Henry I, and his wife, Mathilde. The view of the town from the church is superb, so bring your camera along.   • This city from the category-"must have". You will not regret for a second. City-Museum of historic houses, half-timbered architecture. Every house is unique, each lives its own history. Hence 51.789594, 11.141500 motor tourist trains.

  • The old town of Quedlinburg is well preserved, even though it was East-Germany until 1989. The 1,000 years old houses are beautifully maintained, the Rathaus is nicely lit at night, and the town has a...  more »

  • Very nice place that was saved before the final. A stroll through the old town is absolutely recommended. Small but nice market on Wednesday on the local dishes are offered.
