  • The Landtag is painted in white and looks very sterile. But still to visit, especially since you have a beautiful view on the Nikolai Church and the old market on the Mensateressa. Also, you can eat well and inexpensively.

  • "CECI n'est pas un Château." wall - but a Landtag building is at the, as also the painter Magritte had titled his image with a pipe: "ce n'est pas un pipe" = this is not a pipe, but a picture. You can visit this reconstruction of the Potsdam city Palace, at certain times even from the rooftop views (in the mess hall, 4th floor). There are to visit interesting exhibitions. Especially nice: the Knobelsdorff staircase in the Rococo style to 1745 built and reconstructed! Worth a visit!

  • Another major site in the old town square, the Alter Markt is the Landtag Brandenburg, formerly the palace of the city. Today it houses the the Parliament of the state of Brandenburg. The City Palace provides a magnificent view of the square below. I was on a bike tour so it was a shame not to be able to go in and explore.
  • The guide is highly recommended. You get lots of information and may visit the premises. Even on the chairs of the politicians must taken place and all for free. Top!

  • We were to the leadership there and the town festival. Was super. The food in the canteen is highly recommended. Healthy, tasty and very reasonably priced. The view from the terrace is stunning.

  • Potsdamer Stadtschloss was a city Palace in Potsdam, built in Baroque style 1662-1669 and expanded 1744-1751 in Rococo style for Frederick the great by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff hofarkitekten. The original castle was difficult injured by bombs in 1945, and in the ' 60s was the ruins demolished by order of the East German Government. The rebuilt Palace has rooms in modern design, and here are the Brandenburg Landsting seat.
