  • First of all I want to stress that it is not a question of Belvedere, in the form of a rotunda, located in Sanssouci Park. Belvedere on Pfingstberg Hill is located away from the Center, but not very far from the other sights-the Palace Cecilienhof, in 10-15 minutes on foot. Unfortunately, the entire complex in the form of a Roman villa was not completed after the death of ideological mastermind, Friedrich Wilhelm IV, but in its current form is absolutely fabulous. Climb the spiral staircase to the top of one of the two towers, you can admire the stunning circular panorama, Belvedere built on top of one of the few hills in the vicinity of Berlin and the view to the horizon. It is not entirely clear why about this attraction not so many know. On the first floor opened in Exposition telling about the history and construction of gazebo on its decline and the current revival. Recommend to visit, even if not all the text is understandable illustrations very eloquent.

  • The excursion on the Pfingstberg Hill in Potsdam is worth the climb. The Schloss Belvedere is located in the middle of the forest there, and from the two towers, you have wonderful views of the city and the surrounding area. The grounds are very well maintained and we can highly recommend visiting.

  • Palace Belvedere is located in the northern part of the Neuer Garten at the top of the Pfingstberg Hill. It was commissioned by Friedrich Wilhelm IV and is only a part of the originally more extensive construction project. The twin-towered building is in Italian Renaissance architecture, and it was built between 1847 and 1863 with an interruption from 1852 to 1860. After the King's sketches architects Ludwig Persius stood, Friedrich August Stüler and Ludwig Ferdinand Hessian for the preparation of the detailed plans. The building fell into disrepair, but was repaired between 1988 and 2005 by a group of local residents. Belvedere is open to visitors today.

  • Great views of Potsdam and the surrounding area. Should you visit and go to the towers when visibility is good.
