Castle Marienburg, Pattensen b Hannover
(4.1/5 based on 120 reviews on the web)
A fairy tale setting come to life, Castle Marienburg rises above a landscape of rolling hills in the lush valley of the Leine River. Once a royal summer residence, the castle was originally a gift from King George V of Hanover to his wife, Queen Marie (hence the name). Today, the majestic castle is considered one of the finest examples of neo-Gothic architecture in the country. Parts of the castle are open to the public, such as the on-site museum, restaurant, and chapel. Explore the interior on a guided tour, which provides a rare chance to see what life at a royal court used to be like. You can also visit the official website for information about upcoming concerts, exhibitions, and other special events. Put Castle Marienburg on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Pattensen b Hannover vacation planner.

  • Beautiful castle under Hanover. However, medieval and built in the 19th century. But still lovely. Can be reached by public transport to Nordstemmen station on the train, then walk 20 minutes. The road uncomfortable only uphill, but otherwise pleasant walk. In the castle during the almost anyone. Running a restaurant. There are guided tours. The place is lovely.

  • Amazing castle close to Hannover (30 km from the city center). Completely recommended visit! :D
  • Such a cool place to visit! Beautiful picture spot and the inside is amazing!
  • Beautiful castle. However it gets quite busy and the guided tours are overpriced
  • The 360 shot's are amazing so vivid. Like being there!!!
  • The castle is amazing but you can only go inside booking a tour, can't pay and visit on your own which is disappointing
