  • After Bernini in St. Peter had created twisted pillars at the Papal altar in the first half of the 17th century, this was like acquired in the course of the 17th century in Germany. Dark altars with accompanying columns and rich gilding stand out nicely at this parish church of Passau from bright building. Halfway up is a chapel of the Virgin Mary. An earlier Church was dedicated to St. Paul in the 11th century, as long it here venerated.

  • As the Cathedral of s. Stefano this church has become over the centuries, a Baroque church, although less glitzy. It is more beautiful inside thanks to the contrast between light and dark.
