  • The Church is worth a visit. A holy mass with the English miss is pleasant. There is a girls boarding school in the convent.

  • The modest furnishings and white walls of the ancient Church of the ancient monastery here are not accidental. In the 19 century, the Church was returned to the alleged appearance of the early Roman era-9 -12 ages. Sure, it's a pastiche, but its meaning-reproduce atmosphere of spiritual vigils when nothing distracts neither look nor heart. Inadvertent proximity to Lutheranism, but Lutherans as times and return the distant past, rather than invent new ones. But, of course, the Catholic Church. Proof of coffin St. Gisela, who lived in the 11 century. She was the widow of the most famous of all the Kings of Hungary-St. Stephen, the King turned to the Christian country of Hungary. The same as in Russia made the Prince Vladimir. And the same era! That's why over the coffin of the Hungarian flag and Gisela in Passau on the right. She's German, daughter of the Bavarian Duke and resident of this monastery. So in vain five times the Hungarians asked her ashes to finally bury her with her husband. Will not give up his Gizelu proud Bavarian and sisters iezuitki and belong to the monastery and Temple.

  • A former Benedictine monastery, which was built in the eighth century. The Centre of the monastery is a Romanesque Basilica of the Holy Cross. Church Vault is decorated in Baroque style. In the middle of the eleventh century in the Church was buried mother Gisela of Bavaria. After four to her Tomb began a pilgrimage. In 30-ies of the 19th century the Bishop founded the Convent School. which today is one of the four higher educational establishments of Passau.
