Close to the City Hall to start bus (approx. 45 fit in). On the ride have interesting information. At the factory gate in the huge halls. After splitting the Group of introductory videos and then tour with (former employee?) and many details about the history and current and future activities of the shipyard. Models already built ships round out the first half. Then into the production and one wonders, that actually in the Hall a whole! Cruise ship there is. Soon there's a pass again and then moves back a giant backward over the small Canal. Moderator although had great Meyer-Werft glasses, is so sure ok! If have you seen!

We had a guided tour at the Meyer Werft. Downright impressive how there in the largest covered dry dock to two to three ships at a time. Also please you don't like this technique you should see, book a ticket over the internet. There is a shuttle service from from papenburg to the recruits.

We had to get lucky, a private tour outside of the usual program. Great experience from the beginning to the end. Very informative and boring to second to none. A "must have" for all cruise enthusiasts. Many thanks to Kai, our moderator.

  • Huge workshops, huge vessels. An amazing looking place from technical point of view.
  • We liked the organization of the tour. You are picked up in the city by the Rathaus/parking lot by a bus and taken to the shipyard. Along the way you are given a bit of the city's history. When you get there you are taken to see a few short films about the history of the company. Then the guide takes you to each station. We had a lady named Ruth and she was very knowledgeable and kind. At the end you of course land in the gift shop before you are taken back to the parking lot. We can't wait to get on a cruise ship! Ahoy!
