  • I arrive to Oybin will begin to suggest that a visit to this town is not promarneny time, but vice versa. You'll feel like you're in another world, while you are away from Bohemia. The Valley of its architecture and location reminds the Alpine settlements, instead of megahor here you will find the beautiful monuments of sandstone rocks. Output to the ruins of Castle and monastery is not too difficult definitely to romance and stairs. The castle itself is located on a high rock and the entire grounds took us 2 hours, therefore, € 6 for an adult entry is fine, although it may seem at first glance like too. View from here is fabulous.

  • If you already are in the region, you should visit the ruins on Mount Oybin in any case. The climb to the ruins leads past the nondescript mountain church, they revealed only at the enter your really elaborate interior, which you so don't expect after the appearance. Admission to the Castle and monastery ruins is something covered already in enough to read other reviews here. Although, the imposing and well preserved ruins of the Abbey is a feast for the eye, but everything else goes down easily. The former Castle is preserved only in a few sections, well here is the exhibition to the history of the castle in their cellars. This could be something informative, hope here even what is happening in the future. The rest of the Summit plant is beautiful to look at with good weather and invites to extensive exploration. The camera obscura was unfortunately closed, but sure is a nice extra. For all that a nice souvenir to take home a variety of want to, there are in the shop at the entrance. I personally took a Posidonia shale with an ammonites from the area around holzmaden me.

  • The mountain is always a worthy goal. The round and the panorama of a dream. The restaurant is also excellently adapted to the landscape. A point deduction because of price. This is not cheap then nothing more is done there and explored. The preservation of the ruins has been completed and the price highly discourages people from there to go and therefore also the restoration remains empty.

  • Beautiful medieval castle. It was a favourite place of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor, and I must say, that he had good taste.
  • A magical place that me and my family absolutely thrilled! The village below the Castle, with the old station and the steam train, is very picturesque, and it would cost for a separate trip. The Castle Church is then due to its location and capabilities of an incredibly large, rugged, full of hidden paths and nooks and crannies. And incredibly well kept. The whole place also provides beautiful views of the surroundings, which are just now in the fall fun in all colors. Definitely recommend it for anyone who is able to beat down a couple of stairs and steeper slope. For the little effort you will be greatly rewarded.

  • Can be solved only through the Castle and monastery of Oybin visit an admission ticket. For entering a spacious grounds with Castle and monastery ruins, which are very well signposted. You can learn much about everyday Castle and monastic life. There is a beautiful trail with fantastic views in the Zittau Mountains and of course also on the railway and its station in Oybin. Our children 5 and 7 years liked it very well. Necessarily with the Kleinbahn drive!
