The permanent exhibition of the Museum of industrial culture extends over three floors, where many interesting exhibits such as looms, tools for iron casting and steam engines are housed. The exhibits, the industrial history of Osnabrück is traced entertaining and enlightening. Elevator, you can a drive in the hase mine, at the time among other things used to promote of Piesberger anthracite. At the end of the tunnel, you reach back into the open and to the other buildings of the Museum, where special exhibitions (in our case through the upheavals of the economy at the beginning of the 20th century in Osnabrück) take place. We found the Museum nicely done, interesting and instructive.

The Director has made a lot of effort and has explained in detail, but also easy to understand about the children. Still, he has watched that all the children devise something "Useful", has explained exactly every step and in the manufacture of boats each child to the side. We could all (drinks, cake...) to bring and use the premises.

but does not have one. Not the best month of December is safe to visit the Museum. Since only one building had opened, I found a bit flimsy the exhibition, but also original. If you have a soft spot for old steam engines, is here well served. Who would like to have an overview of the industrial heritage of the area, remains a little stumped. There's the structure missing. My suspicion is that this museum is also chronically under-funded.

  • This museum is worthwhile in any case, there is much to discover and read. A walk through the tunnel is very interesting. It is however recommended to inform when the other buildings of the Museum are open, as probably even more treasures lurk. The Museum is also child-friendly, there are small tasks and games, so that these will not be bored. The price of admission is even slightly too low for the offered my opinion. The price and the other buildings for open would be the best compromise there.
