  • Reconstructions of buildings from the stone age (old -, media -, Neolithic), through the bronze age to the early middle ages are on the grounds of the open-air museum. In addition to the buildings, there is a wood plank way with carved wooden idols and a reconstructed fortification wall. The reconstructions make history for non-archaeologists understandable and very interesting! Temporarily actors revive the Museum ("living history"), which show medieval living conditions and work techniques (E.g. blacksmiths or potters) in historic raiment and explain. Groups (children and adults) to diverse topics take guided tours can be booked at the Museum. Individual visitors can borrow a museum case and with the contents including producing fire or the flour grind is trying. The open-air museum is located right next to the Teutoburg Forest, there are great hiking and jogging tracks of the Museum. I look forward to the special event 'Viking days'.

  • Nice, small open-air museum, inviting total quite manageable, but to greater confrontation. Negative rather unfriendly Lady at the box office during our visit Whitsunday 2017 we noticed, which reacted peevishly (of course she can not decide it, but the question be descriptive) discount for an unemployed on the question and when asked for directions to the prospectus referred us ("that's why I gave Yes the prospectus you..."). Too bad a friendlier beginning would have made perfect the visit. For the people who presented old handicrafts with enthusiasm were even more touching then, overall it was positive.

  • In an area 1 ha against the edge of the forest is history of about 9500 BC to approximately 1900 to life. Very beautiful buildings on the basis of finds in Northern Germany. Very committed employees. Very nice material use and understandable explanation. Our daughters of 7 and 10 also found it very interesting.

  • Nice place to visit and check the history of the region. Also a good base for multiple walks around the countryside
  • Not very big but also not expensive. An interesting walk in the woods.
  • As a group, we have allowed us a guided tour. For two hours we received great information very competently and loose. Can I only recommend!

  • Nice museum, lots to see. Sometimes quiet. The most fun is to go at an event. Do your walking shoes because of the height difference. Furthermore, super friendly staff and clean good toilets.

  • Worth a visit. Unfortunately, we were on Sunday until shortly before just arrived. So although some people were on the road. But the events with costumed people was of course over. Nevertheless, we could celebrate the premises on the grounds and watch live pigs in their everyday tasks. For a visit on Sunday to at least recommended.
