Specialty Museum Museum
Established with the sole purpose of providing an entertaining and informative overview of the history of the city, Stadtmuseum Fembohaus is inside the restored rooms of a merchant's mansion built in the Renaissance era. The museum features conventional exhibits and multimedia shows designed to take visitors on a journey through nearly a millennium of the city's history. The exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including cuisine, trade, crafts, and city governance. Audio tours are available in several languages, though you can also make arrangements for a guided tour with a knowledgeable staff member. The museum offers a variety of special tours for the entire family or just for children. Day tickets purchased here can also be used to visit all other municipal museums on the same day. Where to stay in Nuremberg

The Altstadt and the Egidienviertel districts, the city's historical sections, provide an array of guesthouses and hotels. An alternative is the Gostenhof area, a suburban region with a selection of tourist sites. If you stay in Gostenhof, however, you need to take public transportation to the city center. For local flair, consider staying in the Knoblauchsland district near the Hauptmarkt. Avoid the Südstadt district near the train station, which is mainly residential and doesn't offer many entertainment options or access to sites.

  • Takes time, but time well spent. The audio guide is really nice as well.
  • A good Museum but left with a heavy heart. I was discriminated at the garden by one of the lady workers while I was using my cellphone. She scolded at me and told me to get out with a loud voice in public ear the bazaar and everybody else was looking at us. I said" I don't have a ticket but my husband is standing in the line to buy the ticket." I felt so ashamed being treated like añ animal. So I went to my husband and told him but she run away and hid and I returned the ticket. The world need not a Museum curator like her.
  • Beautiful historic building. The museum is cheap and brings lots of art and history about itself and Nürnberg in gerneral.
  • A very well done museum covering the history of Nuremberg. You don't feel the need to play the audio guide for every single item unless you're really interested in them. Overall a good glimpse into the history of the town.
  • Excellent museum and great audioguide
