  • Spent about an hour at the museum, and it was not what I was expecting. The tour starts at the top floor, where you get a close-up look at the inner workings of storage (and moving) large items. You c...  more »
  • This museum gives you an insight to Nuremberg and it's history. We spent a couple of hours there but if you listened to everything on the audio guide you'd probably be there a lot longer. The staff ar...  more »

  • Takes time, but time well spent. The audio guide is really nice as well.
  • A good Museum but left with a heavy heart. I was discriminated at the garden by one of the lady workers while I was using my cellphone. She scolded at me and told me to get out with a loud voice in public ear the bazaar and everybody else was looking at us. I said" I don't have a ticket but my husband is standing in the line to buy the ticket." I felt so ashamed being treated like añ animal. So I went to my husband and told him but she run away and hid and I returned the ticket. The world need not a Museum curator like her.
  • Beautiful historic building. The museum is cheap and brings lots of art and history about itself and Nürnberg in gerneral.
  • A very well done museum covering the history of Nuremberg. You don't feel the need to play the audio guide for every single item unless you're really interested in them. Overall a good glimpse into the history of the town.
  • Excellent museum and great audioguide

Where to stay in Nuremberg

The Altstadt and the Egidienviertel districts, the city's historical sections, provide an array of guesthouses and hotels. An alternative is the Gostenhof area, a suburban region with a selection of tourist sites. If you stay in Gostenhof, however, you need to take public transportation to the city center. For local flair, consider staying in the Knoblauchsland district near the Hauptmarkt. Avoid the Südstadt district near the train station, which is mainly residential and doesn't offer many entertainment options or access to sites.
