St. Lorenz Church, Nuremberg
(4.6/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
St. Lorenz Church stands as one of the most prominent Evangelical Lutheran churches in Bavaria. Admire the Gothic architecture outside and the many artworks inside. You'll find pieces by famous German artists such as Veit Stoss, Adam Kraft, and Peter Vischer the Elder. The gothic choir of the church, started by medieval master mason Konrad Roriczer, is particularly striking. If you're lucky, you may get to hear some music played on one of Europe's largest organs. Daily guided tours are an option. Make St. Lorenz Church a centerpiece of your Nuremberg vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Nuremberg family vacation planner.

  • Another impressive church. Hidden in a side street, you might not stumble upon it. Beautiful architecture. Lots to see inside. Look out for the details.
  • St. Lawrence Church suffered as much damage from its priests in the 19th century as from WWII. They abused its art by selling it off, often for just the scrap metal value, to pay off the debts they ha...  more »

  • The most popular landmark and my fave too. Its the Protestant Cathedral anyway, n it stands tall dividing the beautiful pedistrian shopping area.
  • Big and beautiful godhic church, many people and store around here because you can go by subway.
  • Acoustic is great inside View is great from Karolinenstrasse Often there are stands and fairs all around, and this is an easy to find gathering point. Generally on the "tour of old town" for any visitor that comes into town.
  • One of the most impressive church in nürnberg
  • A fantastic cathedral!
