St. Lorenz, Nuremberg

(4.6/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
St. Lorenz stands as one of the most prominent Evangelical Lutheran churches in Bavaria. Admire the Gothic architecture outside and the many artworks inside. You'll find pieces by famous German artists such as Veit Stoss, Adam Kraft, and Peter Vischer the Elder. The gothic choir of the church, started by medieval master mason Konrad Roriczer, is particularly striking. If you're lucky, you may get to hear some music played on one of Europe's largest organs. Daily guided tours are an option. Make St. Lorenz a centerpiece of your Nuremberg vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Nuremberg family vacation planner.

  • Yes ... I changed my opinion about the Church that if seen from outside may seem gloomy, from inside that I finally managed to visit, is bright and colorful by large Windows filled with stained glass scenes. Really beautiful, worth the visit.

  • The biggest church in Nuremberg. In place of the old chapel was laid down in 1270 and the completed in 1477. Many sculptures on the inside and outside. Painted sculpture 'Madonna and child' is the oldest (1285 made). Fight STIs by hanging from the canopy "Annunciation" relief (1519 made) is not to be missed and is surrounded by rose 55.

  • The most popular landmark and my fave too. Its the Protestant Cathedral anyway, n it stands tall dividing the beautiful pedistrian shopping area.
  • Big and beautiful godhic church, many people and store around here because you can go by subway.
  • Acoustic is great inside View is great from Karolinenstrasse Often there are stands and fairs all around, and this is an easy to find gathering point. Generally on the "tour of old town" for any visitor that comes into town.
  • One of the most impressive church in nürnberg
  • A fantastic cathedral!
