St. Lorenz, Nuremberg

(1,000+ reviews on the web)
Religious Site Church
St. Lorenz stands as one of the most prominent Evangelical Lutheran churches in Bavaria. Admire the Gothic architecture outside and the many artworks inside. You'll find pieces by famous German artists such as Veit Stoss, Adam Kraft, and Peter Vischer the Elder. The gothic choir of the church, started by medieval master mason Konrad Roriczer, is particularly striking. If you're lucky, you may get to hear some music played on one of Europe's largest organs. Daily guided tours are an option. Make St. Lorenz a centerpiece of your Nuremberg vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Nuremberg family vacation planner.

  • One of two very similar looking churches in the middle of town. I actually prefer this one as it is more original and 'old' and has more traditional features. There are photos showing the damage done ...  more »
  • Nuremberg has many lovely churches but this is probably the nicest and because of its location you would struggle not to see it. Definitely worth taking a closer look if you are in the area.  more »
  • We found this church by accident and it is yet another church (Lutheran) in Europe, We were there for some time as it is a large church. Worth a visit if you have the time.  more »

  • Very intrigued by the tantalizing effects of this Ancient church in downtown Nuremberg . It's superbly magnificent
  • It is one of the most beautiful old church in Nuremberg
  • This is a normal Gothic Church, however this was destroyed during WW2 so was rebuilt , this has been a great work, only if you read the history you realize of that since the whole building looks old, in other hand the rebuilding still in progress, so you can find some people working during your visit. Must see!!
  • This is a very beautiful church in nuremberg. It is not far away from the main railway station. You should definitly visit this church and look at the beautiful intereur from inside too!
