Ehekarussell, Nuremberg

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web
One of Nuremberg's most famous landmarks, Ehekarussell depicts the different stages of married life in the form of a fountain. The structure, commonly known as the "marriage carousel," is based on a poem by 16th-century German poet Hans Sachs. Those confident in their German-language skills can read the poem, which has been inscribed onto a heart-shaped marble slab. Otherwise, you can simply try to interpret the large figurines yourself. Circle the fountain to witness scenes of passionate love, fierce arguments, and loss. While the controversial sculpture style is not to everyone's taste, this famous attraction leaves a lasting impression. • This fountain was extremely controversial even before its completion, and was from the beginning (1976) viedeoüberwacht. An absolute must see. It is based on a Gedichht of Hans Sachs. The fountain is directly at the subway stop of white Tum.

  • It is a fountain involuntarily, to frighten. Is where one man is dancing on top of a complex structure involving a combination of male and female fish and frogs, but I do not know the meaning. But the perfection of it. This water in a shallow... and there was a sign.

  • I rather like the fountain. The figures were somewhat scary and very generous is better

  • What an amazing work of art! When we discovered it we walked slowly around, fascinated about the expressiveness. Not knowing immediately that the topic was "marriage" we saw it as a description of human life, the hopeful beginnings, the dramas, finally death - and the joker laughs and laughs! Interested in art or spirituality? Then you need to visit the well!
  • Just a fountain, but a fairly elaborate one.
  • Well worth a detour. It's just a fountain/sculpture so don't get too excited, but it's so unusual and well done. Go take a photo.
  • The goal is to make the end like the beginning.
  • Amazing sculpture
