  • On the way of the Dürerhuis to the Hauptmarkt market square you will meet him suddenly, majestic present at this great site. Do that after your visit to his home: you are still full of them, and this great Sir imposeert you even more!

  • Literally within walking distance of the Museum House of Albrecht Dürer, in the square that bears his name-Albrecht-Dürer-Platz, first in Germany, the monument to the great master. Strange as it sounds, but the initiator of this majestic monument installation became Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria. The first stone of the planned construction of the monument was laid in April 1828 the year when in Nuremberg and celebrations were held throughout Germany, in conjunction with the 300-anniversary of the death of Dürer. And the bronze of the Berlin sculptor Christian Wizard Rauch was placed on a pedestal only 21 May 1840 year-just in time for Dnjuhu a great artist. Personally knowing Wizard (as well as 956429 guides and pejsateli reviews of travel forums) argue that Albrecht Dürer is easily recognizable, especially when compared with his self-portraits, stored in famous museums of the world (the Vienna Albertina, Paris the Louvre, the Prado of Madrid, Munich Old Pinakothek). Wizard's sight of a piercing glance off into the distance. Right hand tightly squeezes a bunch of brushes. Left-back floor of a mantle. And on the pedestal is concisely and clearly: "Albrecht Düerer ...

  • Hits the heart of what you would like out of traditional dining in this region! This is a not a place to miss dining at. Don't expect fancy. Don't expect modern cuisine. Expect an authentic Bavarian welcome (not German apparently - it's like the Cornish behave towards Londoners). We asked what was good to eat for an authentic meal here and told without hesitation what we should eat, to drink & what to wear! Cannot fault this restaurant... the cuisine, service, price and atmosphere will indeed take you on your road to a Bavarian foodie experience!
  • Excellent restaurant, mostly full of locals, with a couple of other tourists. Felt typically German, the food was great, we had their pork shoulder which is their special and it was fantastic, very yummy. I don't drink beer but apparently that was good too. Extremely good value for money!
  • Cult place in Nuremberg with very good traditional food and unique atmosphere. If you're in Nuremberg, give it a try, it's worth doing it.
  • Outstanding horseradish and salmon soup. It Worth trying :)
  • Really good restaurant with delicious local food! Located in city center is a really good place to have dinner with friends or bussiness meeting! Sausages are awesome and you can eat here the Best Albrecht-Dürer-Stube of the city! Good prices (but prepared because maybe you will have to share table with anyone...)

Where to stay in Nuremberg

The Altstadt and the Egidienviertel districts, the city's historical sections, provide an array of guesthouses and hotels. An alternative is the Gostenhof area, a suburban region with a selection of tourist sites. If you stay in Gostenhof, however, you need to take public transportation to the city center. For local flair, consider staying in the Knoblauchsland district near the Hauptmarkt. Avoid the Südstadt district near the train station, which is mainly residential and doesn't offer many entertainment options or access to sites.
