  • a ruin like fas each other also. But this is not so bad. The towers, which are the landmarks of the castle ruins are accessible. The ruins dating back to the 13th century and has of course nothing to do with the fictional Dr. Frankenstein. Because it never existed. The Castle has served only as scenery for filming and has a completely different historical background. During my stay, I noticed that many parts of the Castle are destroyed on the ground. One can only imagine how it must once have looked. The castle ruins was restored only sparsely, what is really a great pity because of the many events. Because events real should be played by a enough money to build the plant at least partially restored. The Castle has nothing to do with the homonymous castle ruin in the Palatinate. Because the ruins were each in possession of other feudal lords. Also, there is no historical evidence that would bring the two castles in connection. In my opinion that is a beautiful ruin, which must be visited but not necessarily more often.

  • I want the description of drake23 (here an assessment of the 31.10.16) once again absorb. With the water monster was and is a huge meanness. There, young girls under peer pressure in deep water are passed. I've seen at this me. Of course, the girl went voluntarily, because she assumed at any time, the broth was how deep and has relied on the water monster, believed it will not happen. The first steps were Yes ok, suddenly sank up to the calves in the water. Instead of going back, she is further forward, because the water Monster showed her the saving wooden chair. Now she was suddenly up to Poppo in the water. After she are saved on the Chair and back into the water was (there was no other way) sank to the waist in the water. Completely soaked it then helplessly stood in front of the water and you saw her, that the night after the girl had gone. Probably she got cold, now or a bladder infection and is located on the nose. That no longer worked even a day later that fun to do for me as a father of a daughter and think you would be able to pass through, me. An organizer must be don't go through something like that. Here, no joke is operated at the expense of the health of people with security. Even a neutral rating. The rest was super great. My VIP ticket was well worth it.

  • Good day, I was at the 31.10.2016 to Castle Frankenstein and was very enthusiastic about the attraction and the effort to a Grus blissful atmosphere. The costumes were class. The evening was also super organized it quickly from a to b has really great. Only at one POINT, it ruined my evening. The event has a water monster, which stands on the edge of the pond and tries people to lure in the water. In the middle of the pond stands a Chair. Now it should be Yes in mind it is the October 31 and it was an outside temperature of 6 degrees. Now, I know that it was all on a freiweiliger basis and no one forced me to go in. Only I did expect something in the form of a towel or possibly a warm drink. I was the first year to Castle Frankenstein and thought, if I have the courage to go in the water is one left standing in the cold. I don't know whether I should call myself as stupid now because I myself let it. I figured if it is then I'm not the only one who put eingeht. But when I asked for a towel the reply came "rather not" then I stood there like a wet poodle. If it was summer, it would have presented no problem but it was stupid. Either I'm one of the few from which pure fun is gone or 5% of the visitors are on the road with wet pants. Of course it's been that I repeatedly stress voluntarily. Only if something is offered, you must expect that people on it go and then not even a towel / coupon for a warm drink or something similar is offered I find it weak. For me, the evening had gone unfortunately we then also soon had to go because I was cold. I was the first time there and represent you it hasn't thought through is it also the first and last time remain well. When I contacted the Organizer via Facebook. Would referenced repeatedly on it all voluntarily was and I blame myself and I cannot expect that one can offer for people who accept the offer a towel.

  • Halloween at Burg Frankenstein runs on weekends during October, usually through the first weekend of November. Zombies, werewolves and other monsters wonder the castle grounds while you walk through. Unlike Halloween Haunt events in America these creatures are allowed to touch you so be prepared! It's most fun in a small group. You park about 15 minutes away (or take the train) and a free shuttle bus takes you to the castle. Fest style themed food and Drink are available on site and it's always busy. Tickets are available online and do sell out. The VIP experience is expensive but includes a buffet and place to sit down. Families are encouraged to go on Sunday. Friday and Saturday and adult oriented.
  • A good hike up the trial and a view of Darmstadt! This is the place to be on Halloween - the best party happens in this old castle. :-)
  • Great to head here during Halloween for their annual open aired haunted castle. Food and drinks via VIP tix!
  • Very nice food in a peculiar environment. The castle dominates the cities around and is itself a beautiful sight.
  • Top notch costuming and themes. Would definitely go back again.
