Baumwipfelpfad, Neuschonau

#1 of 10 in Parks in Lower Bavaria
National Park Nature / Park
To see the Bavarian forest from a different perspective, pay a visit to Baumwipfelpfad, a 1,300 m (4,265 ft) path that winds its way to a 44 m (145 ft) tall tower, from which you can see for miles. Follow the gently sloping walkway until you are walking among the treetops. Stop at the various informational panels to learn about the local wildlife, or let the kids play at the adventure stations, which feature wooden bridges and rope challenges. The path is wide and shaded, and it's sloped gradually enough that it is easily accessible with wheelchairs or strollers.
