  • We had been long time not in Hesse Park and were impressed with the many new features. The Museum was crowded because of the long holiday weekend and the fall market. Nevertheless, we could see all alone and without much crowd thanks to good organization and clever placement of the stands. By the Stockschnitzer before the signs written in Sütterlinschrift spelling survived many visitors, and the charcoal-burner before his smoking pile of nice handmade goods on the stands up to the lifelike nostalgic classrooms we have only a fraction of the offer seen in two hours - a motivation to come back sometime soon. The Christmas market is registered in the calendar!

  • Nice place to spend a day between the history of all cities in Hessen... and the beauty of nature
  • Amazing place to spend a day with the family
  • Traditional buildings and excellent museum
  • For the English speaking goers, many of the signs are translated, but some are not. Beautiful old architecture, and it's worth going for the windmill alone. Some animals for the kids (but not many).
  • Half of the signs were only in German
