Tierpark Hellabrunn, Munich

4.5
Witness hundreds of animals in uncaged environments at Munich's Tierpark Hellabrunn. The world's first geo-zoo, this attraction features open-concept displays. The animals are organized by geographical origin instead of species. You can visit the Jungle House to see dozens of chimpanzees, gorillas, and alligators. You also might wander through the walk-through aviary or elephant house. Kids love visiting the Touch Paddock petting zoo. Check the website ahead of time for a complete list of feeding times and special animal-handling shows. Very nice well maintained and the animals have much outlet, good opportunity to linger on the individual enclosures.

Beautiful zoo! We were within 6 hours flew by. All animals visible from multiple viewpoints. Track route well. Many spots to sit and picnic. We had a picnic lunch. Price for 2 adults with 2 children 33 euros, plus parking 4. I highly recommend it!

Probably the best zoo in Europe. Recommend immediately visiting at 4-5 hours. The zoo itself is huge, more like a big park in specially designated areas live different beasts. Throughout the day in different parts of the pass and submission schedule is in the map. issue at the entrance. Another life hack! With packing there is trouble. Parking lots are filled, you need a long stand in line and wait until someone leaves. But Flamingo near the entrance there is a restaurant with a parking lot that Siebenbrunn protects the uncle in a cummerbund. He asked for parking €20, while regular parking costs €4. But! Voucher for parking, he gives afterwards can be used in the restaurant for the full amount. The restaurant was quite good with excellent beer.

  • Great attraction with lots to see! Huge variety of animals from many continents! When I went there were a few baby animals, which was a huge pro, but quite a few places were under construction, which was a bit of a let down
  • Great zoo. I went early in the morning and the crowds were not too bad. One tip is to bring cash. The ticket agent at the zoo said they cannot accept any cards except German bank cards. Good thing I had Euro on me.
  • Huge variety, map outlines a path to take to view all the animals which is helpful. A few café/restaurants/beer gardens sprinkled throughout. Noticed that even for a zoo, it was on the smellier side (making some of the food locations less desirable than others)
  • It's the Munich's zoo. Great for families with kids. On weekends and holidays with good weather it's crazy full. But the animals seems to have it good there and worth a visit (or two).
  • Munich zoo is a great place. Not only are the animals very interesting (especially the apes) but all infratstructures are good. Paradise for children!
