Theresienwiese, Munich

#5 of 14 in Parks in Munich
Nature / Park
In 1810, you'd have been celebrating the wedding of Princess Theresa and Prince Ludwig at Theresienwiese. Today, you'll be celebrating the world-famous Oktoberfest. The 42 hectare (103.8 acre) park is in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt neighborhood. Here, you'll find historic city landmarks, such as St. Paul's church, the Bavaria statue, and the Esperantoplatz. If you come for the festival, you'll be in the company of 6 million other people. Hop on the Munich U-Bahn metro for easy access to the area, which has its own stop. • We were the first time at the Oktoberfest and we very well liked. Seen a lot of interesting people. The old lore has us on the best favor because she was still originally. You should go in the Dirndl and leather trousers, because you feel more belonging.

  • There are many highlights at the meadows at the annual Oktoberfest, but an insider's tip and yet at the same time for all those who appreciate fine dining and unsurpassable meadows ambience, so an open secret, what has to offer beetle is just easy. Not for individual visitors in General, but for small groups, advance reserve. A special treat on food and drink, mood and environment, atmosphere and style - the hippest people gather here, and it is and remains one of the coziest places during the Oktoberfest.

  • The views from the top of the tower are very nice, although the ascent is a bit tired. The viewpoint is usually very crowded of people and sometimes there are guides explaining what you see from there to small groups and slows down the circular of people, as the mirador Hall is very narrow and only fit 1 person.

  • Went for biggest flea Market sale... Great place to hang out and for Jogging or playing over a weekend... October festival will happen here...
  • One of my favourite place in Munich to walk around when the weather is nice. There are football/soccer goals present, basketball hoops and a skateboard park to use as well. I have also joined random people playing Frisbee, American football and cricket. And it takes a whole new personality when Oktoberfest or Tollwood is in town.
  • A fine place for a fair. Basically a huge open ground. half-paved.
  • This place is with friends (if its good weather) a perfect spot to chill and having fun :)
  • Once in a lifetime experience. Love meeting people from all over the world.

Where to stay in Munich

The St. Paul district is the site of Munich's yearly Oktoberfest and offers easy access to the city center. You may be able to find accommodation deals in the Am Schlachthof district, which is populated with small businesses and artists. Glockenbachviertel is the center of the city's nightlife with bars, clubs, and restaurants lining the streets. In contrast, Am alten Südfriedhof is a quiet residential district.
