In 1810, you'd have been celebrating the wedding of Princess Theresa and Prince Ludwig at Theresienwiese. Today, you'll be celebrating the world-famous Oktoberfest. The 42 hectare (103.8 acre) park is in the Ludwigsvorstadt-Isarvorstadt neighborhood. Here, you'll find historic city landmarks, such as St. Paul's church, the Bavaria statue, and the Esperantoplatz. If you come for the festival, you'll be in the company of 6 million other people. Hop on the Munich U-Bahn metro for easy access to the area, which has its own stop. • Oktoberfest is something special! Have fun, beer and good mood! If you need a place at the table, months must the Book table 4-6 in advance, otherwise no chance! If the weather is good, you can drink beer outside at the table. The food is nothing special, but the beer is drinkable!

  • Oktoberfest meant the festival in October and it is a Bavarian fest held in Munich that you cannot find in other German city. It was not just a beer fest as most people think, instead it was a huge carnival from end September to the first weekend in October, last for 16 days. As it was so famous, it attracts millions of tourists from different parts of the world every year and expected to have 6 millions this year. Oktoberfest is held on a fairground called Theresienweise in central Munich and all local breweries would build their fancy beer halls and sell special beer there which has a higher alcohol percentage (about 9%). Only one-litre beer in big glass mug is sold here and some people began drunk in the afternoon. If beer is not your cup of tea, there are a lot of snack booths, game counter, wine booth or restaurants in this big open air carnival as well as different kinds of amusement games waiting the drunk.
  • Festive atmosphere. Food And beer (goes without saying) at Spaten Biergarten in Hippodrome was good. Excellent service. A lot of people having fun. And, you walk out the Theresienwiese Underground station and it is all right there!
  • Fest ground for wold famous octoberfest, spring festival, tollwood and many more..
  • Oktoberfest in Munich is my favorite, period. I don't drink much during the year because I save myself for the epic yearly experience.
  • Went to the Octoberfest twice. Don't remember a thing!!
