Restaurant und Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm, Munich

Food & Drink
One of the finest restaurants in Munich, Restaurant und Biergarten am Chinesischen Turm was a gift to the city from Elector Karl Theodor in the 18th century. The Chinese Tower, inspired by Buddhist temples, makes a paradoxical backdrop to the restaurant's more casual beer garden. The beer garden's tables sprawl out under the tower beneath the trees. Hofbraeuhaus is accompanied by sausages, bratwursts, sauerkraut, and beans. You can make reservations at the fine-dining restaurant inside the building, but at the beer garden, just plop down and order up the local brew. • Huge park, larger than Central Park in NY, with Lakes, ducks, playgrounds... and with German food and drink booths. All very rich, but when it comes to pay do not give ticket and nailed you €23 so veoa pictured. You then return the pitchers and the coins that give you leave and return to €/jarra

  • We went expecting some tables under a tree in the English Garden and some beer. And what we saw was beyond imagination - 18000+ people just sitting on communal tables, spread over a vast area, with 1 ...  more »
  • It is a must to have a fun time between nature, live traditional music, some good pitchers of beer and something to eat. And for everyone!

  • Tasty food, marvellous area. Self service makes it easy to serve yourself and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. Prices good enough. Portions big .
  • Good choice of food and atmosphere is great. There's lot of seating so it's great for big groups. Not the cheapest place around, but it is a great location for a beer and some lunch.
  • Extremely overpriced, as in all famous places in Münich. The view is nothing special, the Chinese thing is boring and not remarkable in any way. It is not worth the trip coming here. The food is good though, I recommend wiessbier and the sausage.
  • Nice Biergarten! As usual in bavaria, you can buy a beer but bring your own food if you want!
  • Great food in a wonderful location. Prices are good but make sure to check your change when you pay

Where to stay in Munich

The St. Paul district is the site of Munich's yearly Oktoberfest and offers easy access to the city center. You may be able to find accommodation deals in the Am Schlachthof district, which is populated with small businesses and artists. Glockenbachviertel is the center of the city's nightlife with bars, clubs, and restaurants lining the streets. In contrast, Am alten Südfriedhof is a quiet residential district.
