Olympiapark, Munich

4.4
#2 of 35 in Outdoors in Munich
You can climb the roof and bungee-jump into the famous Olympiapark, home of the 1972 Olympics. This stadium is one of the rare examples of infrastructure built for the Olympics that has remained in use long after the end of the event. It now hosts concerts, festivals, and even religious special occasions. The complex includes the stadium, swimming hall, ice rink, media center, tennis facility, Olympic village, and iconic 291 m (955 ft) tower. At the top of the tower is an observation platform and revolving restaurant. You can walk, cycle, inline skate, or jog around the lake. Or, you can rent a row or paddleboat. • Next to the bmw Museum visual fantastico with cafe and restaurant and souvenir shop. Unmissable and low cost. The elevator looks like a rocket so fast that rises without thrust. Visualisa prativamente whole town in 360 degrees.

  • Olympiapark is stunning during the winter! I had been to the summer tollwood festival shortly after I first arrived to Germany and it was beautiful. Luckily we were able to experience this on a fairly sunny and warmer winter day (Christmas this year 2017.) We visited the broadcasting tower and went all the way to the top. For 7€ you really cannot pass it up. It is a wonderful sight and then visiting the man made hills that are on the other side of the tower and you can take a picture on the tallest hill with the tower behind you. Absolutely wonderful and beautiful site to see and walk around.
  • Beautiful park! You can walk forever around the Olympia park. We walked to the top of the hill and then meandered back down. There are places to eat and drink, as well as large open spaces for dogs. Very relaxing and peaceful place to be, would definitely recommend a visit!
  • One of my happy places in this city. Especially by the lake where you can rent a boat in summer, enjoy the sunset and the sound of a kind of small waterfall through the year (except when it's freezing then take your chance for iceskating in the sport hall. 💚
  • Great park for relaxing, running or even fitness on new fitness area there. Also one can rent a boat there during summer, there is also great swimming hall with Olympic diving platform which is not open all the time though, there is allot to do there, seeing München from Olympic tower, or having meal there, aqua world, Tolwod is also in the near
  • Good outing away from the centre of Munich. Able to walk around and admire the facilities. Great restaurant with good value for your money.
