  • The Neue Pinakothek is a good gallery but not a great gallery. It is not like the Prado or National Gallery, London. I found lots of interesting pieces by artists of whom I had not previously heard. T...  read more »

  • Alte Pinakothek has a bigger/nicer building but neue pinakothek's collection is amazing. Works by Van gogh, Gustav klimt, monet, Picasso. Not a super large gallery though, only took me about an hour and a half, could probably be seen in 45min to an hour tho
  • one of the must-see museums in munich. focusses on 19th century european art. extraordinary and delightful collection!
  • Careful with the arrogant male employee at the ticket counter! He angrily and loudly refused to give us the student discount even when the university card clearly stated in three languages that it was a student card and it was valid for another 7 months. All other museums and attractions have accepted it without any hassle. No student discount at the Neue Gallerie if your card is not German. 😡 Apart from that, if you want to go there to see Impressionist paintings there are not many of them. 90% of the exhibition is devoted to other more classical styles and portraiture.
  • Best place to be in the Sunday afternoon. Plan more than 3 hours in it!
  • Nice art from a good epoch
