  • This museum is a must if you are in Munich. Not only is the building alone is worth it. Also the collection of German design, modern art, and interesting exhibits is just worth the detour. In addition, you can also still fine have lunch at the Museum Café.

  • This gallery/museum has some great art including one of Van Gogh's Sunflower series. It also has a gorgeous Klimt (the first I have ever seen). I went here on the a day when it was snowing outside and...  more »

  • Large museum and extremely well curated with a mix of German and other artists represented. As the world's first museum devoted to contemporary art it continues to live up to the standards of excellence it has established since the day it opened its doors. For the casual to avid art lover there are many fantastic evenings to be spent exploring the works in his gallery
  • One of my favourite museums in Europe. Nice collection of Monet and Manet. Great that it was free once a week.
  • Alte Pinakothek has a bigger/nicer building but neue pinakothek's collection is amazing. Works by Van gogh, Gustav klimt, monet, Picasso. Not a super large gallery though, only took me about an hour and a half, could probably be seen in 45min to an hour tho
  • Absolutely fantastic collection, complete with works from Monet, Gauguin, Manet and van Gogh. Worth a visit, especially with the included free audioguide.
  • Very good if you have an interest in that era of art.
