Where to stay in Munich

The St. Paul district is the site of Munich's yearly Oktoberfest and offers easy access to the city center. You may be able to find accommodation deals in the Am Schlachthof district, which is populated with small businesses and artists. Glockenbachviertel is the center of the city's nightlife with bars, clubs, and restaurants lining the streets. In contrast, Am alten Südfriedhof is a quiet residential district.

  • Some lovely art in this well set out gallery. Opened at 10am and had the room of Van Gogh,s and Monets to myself for half an hour-what a treat!  more »
  • This museum is a pleasant trip through the 1800s and early 1900s of art history. The displays are tasteful and well labeled and explained. Very nice cafeteria - especially the outside area near the wa...  more »

  • My favorite Pinakothek! Lots of very beautiful pieces of art exposed, well organized and quite big. I really love the last few rooms as I am a huge Klimt, Gaugin, Monet and Van Gogh fan. In Sundays the entrance is just 1€. Definitely worth a visit when in Munich.
  • Very interesting museum where you can find the Sunflowers of VanGogh! On Sundays it's only 1€.
  • I particularly like the last half of the museum. If you are more into late 1800s, you should start from the end :)
  • The most boring tour I've ever had in my life. The guide didn't care for what we were interested in and just talked on forever. She never answered a question. The museum is filled with great paintings but the building is so ugly. Please, show these paintings some more respect.
  • Excellent experience with very good array of products in Museum's shop!
