Museum Villa Stuck, Munich

(3.9/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
An outstanding example of an Art Nouveau interior, Museum Villa Stuck is a museum entirely devoted to the life and work of renowned artist Franz Stuck. Located in a historic mansion that was designed by Stuck and built in 1898, the museum now houses some of the artist's finest paintings. Stuck was deeply involved in every stage of the mansion's construction and decoration, even designing furniture, for which he won a gold medal at the 1900 Paris World Exposition. Though Stuck became known as the city's "prince of painters," many of his ardent admirers consider his most interesting and beautiful work the "Bronze Amazon," a sculpture now situated inside the museum's front portico. • The still ongoing Toorop exhibition is great, she and the expired exhibition bit red to Douglas Coupland eagerly expecting us the next activities in the Museum Villa stuck. To the historical rooms, there is a very interesting guide sheet. The stroll to the Angel of peace opens again a wonderful panoramic view over the city. We were twice here in January, most recently on the 1st Friday of the month, then the visit from 18:00 until 22:00 is free. Before we hit the saved entry costs more than double with the offerings of there represented beetle gastronomy. In short: the 300 metres to the main building are sensory service miles. The Quiche - well, Yes. The white wine - well, Yes. However: the cake - a stunner. We have tried several and each was worth his money. The service was certainly uneven. Since there are some supplementary training.

  • The Villa stuck is a relatively small museum that displays mainly exhibitions. Just a few rooms that are very worth seeing are the fixed part that concerns the artist Franz von Stuck. Worth a visit also, because it is not so overrun, like other Gemälegalerien in Munich.

  • a bit out of town, visiting boils down to two halls and an empty living room, at the ticket office staff are not very friendly, as the title of the review while others let loose

  • A very unusual museum or rather a private collection made public of different works of art. Also the villa itself could be seen as a piece of art itself. Every room has it own style and feeling.
  • No English brochures for the house side of the museum. Was not impressed by the permanent collection. The photo exhibit was very good, though.
  • Too small
  • Franz von Stuck is well worth a visit. In addition, there are temporary exhibitions of modern art.
