  • If you visit in the evening, it's lit up by sunset or surrounding building lighting and has a beautiful glow.
  • Really nicely made and decorated. Adds up to the monumental ambient of the Marienplatz.
  • Golden Mother Mary. When the swedes were about the attack the city, the Duke fled to Austria and prayed to mother Mary to protect the city. The citizens ended up paying the swedes with money and beer. The Duke then returned and had this monument built.
  • after visiting the german museum .just walk by the river and you will find the mariensaeule..its a nice monument
