4.4/5 based on 300+ reviews on the web
For some quiet time during your sightseeing, stop at Hofgarten, between the English Garden and Munich Residenz. The Italian Renaissance garden was built in 1613, and features gravel paths, fountains, flower beds, and a cafe. Look for the Temple of Diana in the center of the garden. In the northeast corner, a square, black granite memorial is dedicated to the White Rose group, whose members were executed for a nonviolent campaign against Hitler's regime. In warm weather, you may find musicians playing in the garden, as well as locals playing boccie ball on the gravel paths. Our Munich vacation trip planner makes visiting Hofgarten and other Munich attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • Lots of space, coherent beautiful Bepfanzung. My highlight was the LiveMusik white wing at lunchtime. Break on one of the benches some with other peace - and Mußesuchenden.

  • Beautiful little park on the back of the Rezidenz. It has some open cafes, which is nice. Enjoyable and relaxed.
  • Beautiful peaceful gardens in the heart of the city. I like the way that the trees, flowers and shrubs are perfectly symmetrical, adorned with fountains throughout the landscape. Great for people watching and viewing the architecture of the Munich Residenz.
  • Peaceful little garden in middle of Munich. It us just so relaxing to sit there and listen to the fountains.
  • Ein grüner Garten mit vielen Bänken gleich am Odeonsplatz. Ideal um sich während eines langen Einkaufstages auszuruhen und das Grüne zu genießen.
  • Garden with flower borders. Seating areas and water fountain. Someone was playing a piano in the middle of the garden when we visited.
  • Just a small nice park. Worth a visit on your way to English garden.
