Flaucher, Munich

(40+ reviews on the web)
Water Body
Relax on the smooth pebble banks and islands of the Isar at Flaucher. Located at the bottom of a low dam and surrounded by trees and parkland, the beach makes an ideal place to stroll or sit and view the greenery in heart of Munich. Visitors come to paddle in the crystal clear water and enjoy a power massage under the current of the dam, or weir. A bridge over the weir offers sweeping views of the beach, and a short walk through the park will take you to a beer garden. Bring something to sit on, as the stones can be rough. Use our Munich vacation generator to add Flaucher and other attractions to your Munich vacation plans.

  • We actually went to the Zoo Hellabrunn, however have waived due to "Overcrowding" and walked on the river ISAR and the ISAR to the Flaucher. Beautiful "wild romantic" (although the ISAR was just re-naturiert), many happy people (partly in the water like my son; branches without flow are again and again), lying partly in the Sun (incl NUDIST fans), partly with grilling, games, chat, and almost always Munich just :-)-a beer in his hand. Best is the area by bicycle to explore, although because tlw a bicycle traffic as cars on the Mittlerer Ring, the ISAR behave himself to English garden about as the Elbe Beach to the outer Alster (Hamburg) or the Prater to Schönbrunn (Vienna - without lock, only Park considered)

  • If you are tired of visiting Munich City Centre, take the opportunity to see another side of this beautiful city: a walk along the river or, in summer, a bath in the River, will make you appreciate even more your stay in Munich. In summer this Park/beach is very busy in other seasons it is very less.

  • Nice place to spend a hot summer afternoon in Munich. Has grill areas too.
  • It is a great place to hang out at the Isar, especially in summer. Walking or running over the bridge gives you a beautiful view over the river. It is totally worth visiting, especially if you are at or want to see the Isar!
  • Amazing. The only drawback is the smoke from hundreds of grills. You literally enter the cloud and get instantaneously hungry 😂
  • Great place next to the Isar. Go there in the summer, make a bbq and meet some new people
  • I love to come here in summer with a BBQ and some music to enjoy the night with friends. Bring a jacket because it is cold at night
