Biergarten Viktualienmarkt, Munich
(4.5/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
Wander through the buzzing stalls of Biergarten Viktualienmarkt, Munich's largest outdoor market. Originally started as a farmer's market in the early 19th century, the market has become a popular delicatessen. You can find gourmet goods and locally made products, as well as an array of fresh meats and produce. Pick up a loaf of fresh, oven-baked bread and a refreshing, fresh-squeezed juice. Walk around to admire the abundance of hand-made Bavarian goods. Stop by the beer garden if you'd like a typical meal of German sausages. Make Biergarten Viktualienmarkt a centerpiece of your Munich vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Munich itinerary maker.

  • The market should visit for all those who love such places. Here you will find all sorts of vegetables, fruits and other foods-meat, fish. All looks very nice, I am sure that all the natural taste. We were lucky: we were when opened Christmas fairs, so you can simultaneously drink mulled wine, eat sausage or something delicious. A lot of souvenir production. In General, one of the best markets on my memory card in Europe.

  • Viktualienmarkt must be, else not seen in Munich. Only in the butcher row a white sausage or a meat loaf (sweet mustard, never the word ketchup say this out loud!) then stroll through the market on the one guaranteed what buys. Then obtained a degree and in the middle of the market in the beer garden serves, then they understand better Munich

  • Wonderful place to sit and have a beer. Plenty of food options surrounding the area. Buy or bring food and sit down and enjoy some beer under the trees. Sometimes hard to find a seat, just be patient and sit with others. The beer is self service
  • Its a great place to have a good meal and seat on banches together with localls bavarians. Its a nicest place day & nights
  • Very nice biergarten in the city center. Often changes the brewery they are serving which is nice. Perfect for a beer after a long day of walking around and shopping
  • It is a pity that i can not give it 10 stars or more. It is my preferite place in Munich. I love the biergarten in the middle ofvthe market... and.. you can buy food at the market and eat at the biergarten provided that you buy the drink... it is a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy a fresh glass of bavarian helles
  • Rude staff, beer is decent, but nothing great. Lots of food vendors around to choose from. I don't understand the hype.
