Wander through the buzzing stalls of Biergarten Viktualienmarkt, Munich's largest outdoor market. Originally started as a farmer's market in the early 19th century, the market has become a popular delicatessen. You can find gourmet goods and locally made products, as well as an array of fresh meats and produce. Pick up a loaf of fresh, oven-baked bread and a refreshing, fresh-squeezed juice. Walk around to admire the abundance of hand-made Bavarian goods. Stop by the beer garden if you'd like a typical meal of German sausages. Make Biergarten Viktualienmarkt a centerpiece of your Munich vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Munich itinerary maker.

  • Today i witnessed how a waiter yelled at an old couple from Brazil, this is the rudest staff i have ever seen. This imbecil also charged the couple 1.50 euros for being in the wrong table and after that made them move to other table. DONT GO THERE unless you like to be treated like crap. I will NEVER get back there.
  • Great beer! Great atmosphere! Friendly talks with strangers!
  • Rude staff, beer is decent, but nothing great. Lots of food vendors around to choose from. I don't understand the hype.
  • Big beer, big pretzels, big crowds. Is it the best I have ever had? No not really. Was it fun? You bet!
  • Nice place to get some beer and sausage
