Bier- Und Oktoberfestmuseum, Munich

Categories: Specialty Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
3.5/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web
To get more familiar with two important aspects of Bavarian culture, pay a visit to Bier- Und Oktoberfestmuseum. Inside Munich's oldest townhouse, a heritage-protected building from 1340, the museum explains the production of beer and the evolution of the culture surrounding it. Memorabilia from Oktoberfest celebrations over the years, as well as many photos, help illustrate the history of this great tradition. After your visit, enjoy some typical Bavarian cuisine in the restaurant, accompanied--of course--by a beer. • I left from Naples in the company of five other couples, headed to Munich for Oktoberfest. Wonderful party, ruined by Magellan Club organization. Deceived because uninformed about the sailing from Naples scheduled at 19, took place with a shuttle bus to Rome, then to Monaco. In nightmare, as small and uncomfortable minibus for 3.5 hours cramped like sardines. The Odyssey continues to Monaco with infinite stages for a total of 16 hours. To finish with dinner booked two days before at a cost of € 25 for a pitcher of beer and a ham hocks inedible. Avoid Magellan organization.

  • This is not just a museum but a bust pub. Beer is still brewed in the bowels of the building and here we learned on our beer tour how to properly toast in Bavaria. Lots of fun and very friendly patron...  read more »
  • We were fourteen people who had booked a guided tour in English, our guide was very good to tell while we enjoyed 4 small ølprøver as our cute hostess served up Meanwhile, bageften was covered up for a real Bavarian dinner with brezn, obatze, sweinebraten, sweinehaxe o, m, m, therefor we had ordered a 15 litre træanker beer as we even had to turn off the tap on , super cozy arrangement, which I highly recommend, thank you again to our control for a lovely evening!!

  • I love drinking here. One of the few places in Munich where you have a choice of what beer to drink. If you also book in advance they off a blind tasting of the big six Munchener breweries, which is a great way to determine your favourite
  • Very tiny museum, some interesting things to see. Did not try the food.
  • Bier- & Oktoberfest-Museum is interesting and not only for beer drinkers. I don’t drink alcohol and it was still great experience for me. Located in Munich’s oldest historic town house, it’s a hidden jewel and represents authentic Bavarian tradition. Tiny exhibition offers beer mugs and other Oktoberfest bits and pieces since early 1900s. You’ll also learn about the history of beer and see artifacts related to beer’s production. I got a feeling that this museum has a pretty strong focus on tourists coming to Munich from around the world. This is in no way a con, just my observation.
  • I visited in 2012 enjoyed the Museum vary much it was vary intresting
  • I had promised more of them, as a free addition to our "stüberl", it would be more look at many pitchers was not sooo interesting...
