Zoo / Aquarium
Home to about 3,000 animals, Allwetterzoo Münster is a large zoo that is enjoyable in rain or shine, because a portion of the many walkways are covered. Enter the tropical greenhouse to meet many species of birds, watch the dolphin and seal show, and see many other animals up close. A playground and petting zoo provide additional entertainment for kids, and picnic benches and tables are available if you want to bring your own lunch. You can feed some of the animals, such as the elephants and penguins; check online for the feeding times. • We have spent nearly 5 hours in the Zoo, so much there is to see. There are many covered areas that provide shelter in bad weather, partly directly at a deer park. Unusual species of animals in this Zoo are partially for conservation breeding. You can go on rubbing shoulders, a special highlight for me was the feeding of Lori. This can take with prepared juice glasses at the compound entrance and inside that hope that a Lori puts on hand, to lick out the glasses. A zookeeper help anything if necessary. I was lucky, one this nice colorful birdie sat down on my hand and has emptied the Cup up to the last drop. He has gegurrt and twittering, really cute. Many nesting opportunities for storks are prepared on the Zoo grounds, which almost without exception all are occupied. The rattle stork is a credit to his name here. Toilets and restoration are sufficient on the Zoo grounds. Picnic for outside food and drinks can be found in many places. For those interested in a visit to the horse Museum is recommended. Easy to reach the Zoo with the number 14 bus. For car drivers, there is a large car park. So, a visit to the Zoo should not miss on a several days visit to Münster.

  • We go like in the Zoo and also the Alwetterzoo in Münster. The construction of the Zoo is very well done and the trails are beautiful. Particularly advantageous, of course, is that the Zoo has about a "rain trail". This allows also a visit to the Zoo in bad weather. The "inside houses/were" are certainly no longer the most modern. But offer a good insight into the inner enclosure also you will find lots of info about the animals. Especially some newer "worlds" / enclosure of the apes and elephants are particularly great and pet friendly. A visit is worthwhile in any case!
