Ferchensee Lake, Mittenwald
Categories: Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Nestled among the mountains of Bavaria at an elevation of 1,060 m (3,478 ft), Ferchensee Lake represents one of the most pristine natural areas in the region. Explore the lake’s lush surroundings, complete with a network of paths and trails along the perimeter. During your hike, you'll discover springs, forests, farmhouses, and other countryside buildings. Keep an eye out for some of the local fauna, including a variety of lizards and birds. When you take a break at one of the clearings, you will be rewarded with camera-ready views of the surrounding tree-lined hills. Don't forget to bring along a picnic lunch if you can. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Mittenwald holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Ferchensee Lake and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
