  • The Museum is very nicely designed should allow plenty of time because you can spend a whole day there. I can't recommend the food because we have failed in the restaurants to be asked by a waiter after our order. We gave up waiting for 20 minutes then. It must be said that ample staff there was but obviously totally overwhelmed.

  • Am Sommermontag gibt es wenige Leute. We arrived about an hour after opening, on a summer Monday, and found the 'town' to be nearly void of people. If more of the buildings had furnishings (a few do), then at least it would have felt like a ghost town - as if everyone had suddenly vanished - but most buildings were empty shells, so it wasn't even that intriguing. The few guests (15 cars in the parking lot when we arrived, maybe 30 when we left) far outnumbered the workers. The buildings are generally beautiful in their antiquity and craftsmanship, and a lot of effort and expense obviously went into moving them from their original location to this site, but the final step of making each building informationally relevant to visitors was missing.
  • We were at the faire yesteryear. We were all excited. The old rides/attractions were really great but also the other stalls could be seen. Next year definitely again... The open-air museum is always beautiful. It is very extensive and you can discover something new again. I can only recommend especially the baked goods from the stone oven. The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

  • I was on father's day the 05.05.2016 for the first time in the Museum with family and friends. It was very nice to be able to look at the many timber-frame houses partially inside. Was wonderful to visit also the windmills, especially the Cabral caps windmill man inside look at from 1790, which could, just great to experience something like that as in the past, the Miller had ground the grain. I've done my off plough in the open-air museum Kommern many hundreds of pics in HDR. Unfortunately we had seen everything and so we will still not yet visited buildings, with a further attack from plough. ;-) The life of our ancestors is documented there wonderful, a recommended excursion for the whole family, where children can discover much new from the story in reality and experience. For the physical well-being is also provided in various places in the site. Fresh baked bread and streusel cake is there behind the entrance on a cart, highly recommended. Some HDR images can be viewed below on the page in Google maps, much fun. ;-)

  • The permanent exhibition is very interesting. The theme-based exhibitions are nice to look at and informative. Here you can go there regularly. As for the price of admission, I do it like once every 2 months. The Museum restaurant offers very good food. Some very good vegetarian dishes.
