  • Even if the traffic now passing rolls to Berlin at the checkpoint, if one wanders through the abandoned grounds and the buildings with their exhibitions, the long-forgotten terror of the GDR border regime comes back up. The entertaining exhibition at the rod building brings a very vividly in memory, such a walk was deadly 30 years ago.

  • Particular; impressive. After all the history from Berlin also good to look at this and feel. The GDR time is very noticeable. The German tourists very impressed

  • On our way to Berlin we have kept. Without great expectations or performance. It was a journey because of the large support area with detail and gloomy in the time impressive and alone. Detailed explanation and impressive images show each station of arrival or departure. Our 12 and 15-year-old sons have asked much and were amazingly attentive. Nothing on our journey has been so persistent in memory like this Memorial. In the review, we must say that our desire to show the children some German history is unfortunately nowhere really authentic to mediate in the present-day Berlin. Especially quite e.g. of Bernauer str. and the local mini border area. This stop at the Memorial of Marienborn was all the more important. There is no detour necessary, only at the rest area nearby the A2 motorway drive and history experience! It's a very well-done piece reminder, but also understand and feel. It's all there so get as we have it from documentation or personal experience in the memory. For the children grasp of theoretically displayed in the school.

  • A little piece of history that's well preserved. If you're driving by, take a break and explore the small museum to see how one of the most famous border checkpoints between west and east Germany functioned. Especially from the east German side.
  • Historical place, you can feel real eastern climat, soviet climat. 😉
  • Had a great time reminiscing as I used the corridor many times in the 80s. Small museum Well worth a stop if your passing.
  • Very interesting former East German border control station. Easily accessed via Autobahn rest stop going A2 eastbound. Free entry. Free bathrooms.
  • It was really weird experience to visit place and be transported back in time. I have crossed East - West border many times back in 80's. It is nice to see progress.
