  • Easy to reach through the parking lot of rastatte Marienborn, and clearly signposted on the autobahn 2 Hanover-Berlin. Here you have 1 1/2 hours sweet would you like view all on this large grounds and in the buildings with or without a guide..

  • The old border crossing between West and East Germany (between Helmstedt and Marienborn) at A2. A huge area with watchtowers, passport control building, bar, mm. Also a building where coffins/dead was handled, see. Cruel, but a must when you pass by on the A2.

  • I traveled to this place by car from Helmstedt, but it can be easily reached directly from the Hannover-Berlin highway, stopping at a rest station which has been built besides it, stepping in by foot....  more »

  • Great history, small museum but worth seeing as a driving stop
  • Very interesting look into the DDR control of its citizens
  • Amazing yet eerie place to visit. Gives you a very clear perspective on how oppressive the crossing must have been in its day. Glad that day is gone.
  • Super cool, that time to see. You can go in the House, car, Office etc into. You can imagine how it must have been. Recommendation!
