  • The Benedictine Abbey was founded on the shore of Lake Laahskogo in the 11th century, the local Earl and 8 centuries has been known as Lakeside Abbey until the Jesuits added the dedication to the Virgin Mary. Gorgeous huge Romanesque Basilica of the Abbey produces a lasting impression: towers, portals, cloisters, frescoes, mosaics, statues ... and a wonderful feeling that all this exists outside time, as if here were held, not a matter of days.

  • I'm generally not that interested in religious places, but this place definitely was worth visiting. A thousand year old monastery makes one think how something can survice that long.
  • It is a very nice and relaxing place, feel free to visit it :)
  • I personally think it's the most beautiful Monastery complex at all. The atmosphere locally is exactly my taste especially to the reform. The sound from the chant of the monks are wonderful.

  • Very nice monastery. It's worth a visit. Nearby is a parking (other side of the street). Parking fee of € 2 is fully in order. Monastery is to reach in a few minutes (max. 5 min) from the parking lot.

  • Nice clean site. There is much to discover. Of course, the highlight is the Abbey Church.
