  • Really impressive outwardly this Cathedral whose construction (red sandstone) dates back to 975 while the consecration took place in 1009. It is characterized by six towers. Details the two choirs that are inside, one for the Emperor and the other for the Bishop (who was also Prince-elector).

  • He is always value to pay a visit. Whether to light candles to commemorate, whether to pray or to pause. Or to look at. It's simply value. He is rather dark inside. But this just makes him special. There are many individual altars, some restrooms a cloister and catacombs. Und...er has also beautiful colorful window... The DOM itself, now comes the special stands on stilts in the water. Can, I mean, get to see on a guided tour. I convinced myself of it.

  • The second highlight of Mainz, after the Gutenberg Museum. It has its own fair share of captivating history.
  • Located near the historical center and pedestrianized market square of the city of Mainz, Germany, this 1000-year-old Roman Catholic cathedral is the site of the episcopal see of the Bishop of Mainz. A statue of Saint Boniface (Latin: Bonifatius) (c. 675? – 5 June 754 AD) is placed near the cathedral - he is the leading figure in the Anglo-Saxon mission to the Germanic parts of the Frankish Empire during the 8th century. He established the first organized Christianity in many parts of Germania. He is the patron saint of Germania, the first archbishop of Mainz and the "Apostle of the Germans".
  • I like this market at plaza . People are so nice.
  • Yeah it's impressive. But more from the outside than form the interior. The surrounding makes it special. Inside the usual, expected view. Crowded with tourists.
  • Beautiful inside. Walk trough the crosswalk on the opposite side of the entry
