  • Who knows it not the well-known song, the Heath could himself as sole plant establish against the intense overgrazing, the Heidschnucken help other vegetation just keeping to otherwise the Heath was again no time overgrown/disappeared. When the Heather blooms it is very nice to the hike and relax.

  • The nature park Lüneburger Heide is a feast for the eyes from mid-August until the beginning of September, that is the time where flowered the Heath (the rule of thumb is 8.8-9.9). Best to make a carriage ride through the Heath, if your a few people since (min. 3) should you book you an own carriage, there get also there where it is at its best and the driver has time to devote to you directly.

  • Together with a shepherd, we spent a beautiful day in the Lüneburg Heath. He took us off the track with his flock of sheep through the Heath and told us a lot interesting facts about the origin and the protection of the Heath. If you bring the necessary stamina for a full-day hike, a hike with a shepherd offers insights on the Heath, that are not possible on the normal hiking trails.
