  • We were visiting Luneburg on a very wet autumnal day and were looking for somewhere to hide from the rain.... so we popped into this very imposing church. So glad we did. When you enter you are direct...  more »
  • The temple is named in honor of John the Baptist. Despite the fact that is an architectural model of brick Gothic, does not produce "weighty" impressions, which I have personally cause Gothic churches. Everything is very nicely inside, lots of gilding, bright 19-century stained-glass Windows. Submitted by very many objects of art: painting and 16 nice famous body and 15 century altars and gilded baptismal font. All beauty. When playing the organ, you forget about the religious sectarianism, and zapolnjaeshsja Them alone, the Almighty. During our visit just was baptized and, surprisingly, none of us in this regard is not expelled and not that. The tower had been diverted South on 1.3 m and 2.2 m West Photography is allowed inside the temple. But the photo is not able to convey the atmosphere of serenity and, simultaneously, the solemnity that reigns in this temple.
