Old City Hall, a Renaissance-style building, stands in a medieval square where the local government formerly met. Peek into the banquet hall to see its open fireplaces, check out the treasure chamber, and explore the cellar, with its torture chamber and the jail. Some descriptions are offered in English, but many of the newspaper clippings, interviews, and sound clips are only in German. • Imposing building with beautiful market, where something is going on. And in any case you should visit the Museum. Featured historic rooms with beautiful ceilings and a tour through the history of Leipzig as an introduction for tourists and perhaps also for locals.

  • This is much more than a visit to a town hall. This is a great museum that you the whole history of Leipzig. Many details, friendly staff. Interesting difference between the classical 1st floor and the more modern (history and facilities) on the 2nd floor. Here you have 2 hours sweet with it.
