  • This is the best zoo, we have visited so far. We especially liked the bear castle adventure playground. The food was very tasty.

  • We were on a holiday Sunday there. Parking in the parking garage was still possible even at 11.30 am. At the entrance, we had to wait something when purchasing tickets, but there were about 10-15 minutes. For a Sunday in the summer with sunshine and nationwide holiday, has not really long. I think the family entrance fee of €51 (€1 for the protection of species) very fair. The Zoo is very beautifully designed. Many people are spread well in the large grounds. There is plenty of space for animals. The facilities are spacious and beautifully arranged. You should enjoy the boat ride in the Tropenerebniswelt Gondwanaland. The huge areas for the monkeys is great. Different types. And when we were there, the orang utans have and "communicate"across the bridge, we were on the across. the chimpanzees Just great... The food is good and priced fair. We will be back

  • Amazing new Zoo. Last time I visited Zoo Leipzig was when I was a boy. It now is completely transformed and a great experience for our2 year old and heaps of other kids. We did enjoy it as well as we could see big animals closeup and in fantastically arranged environments. The new playground alone is amazing. It sits where the polar bears used to be. A few hickups would include the extra charging here and there for example the camel rides for 6€ a pop or the narrow path ways when using a buggy. Other than that - we spend 6h easily wondering about. The restaurants and coffees on offer are good.
  • While the price can feel a bit steep it is well worth knowing that visitors can enter all areas on one ticket - this includes the aquarium, the primate enclosure (+ feedings) and Gondwanaland. A great zoo with several excellent, large and enriched enclosures, a diverse feeding and activity schedule and lots of informational talks (do note: zookeepers sometimes feed during their talks, so if you're interested in specific animals going to the talk can be well worth it). One star gets knocked off for the persistent presence of horrible GDR-era enclosures, some of which still house animals. I know the zoo is working on creating great new spaces, but in the meantime some zoo inhabitants are still in very unfortunate environments.
  • This was my third time in Leipzig Zoo and I enjoyed it every single time. There are new attractions/ enclosures every year and the zoo get's more and more beautiful. My favorite part is the Godwanaland, a huge tropical indoor area with a lot of unique animals and adventure trails. The enclosures are really spacious and the animals seem to be happy! A lot of endangered animals live there as well and they support projects to release them back into the wild. I defenitely recommend a visit, it's worth its price! (Adults 21€/ Students 17€)
  • Absolut perfekt. Best Zoo we have been so far and right in the center of Leipzig! Lots of food and small restaurants split across the area.
  • Loved the zoo, loads of animals and fun to visit. I guess more water animals would be cool but the tropical area is amazing.
