  • Rarely I have seen such a striking Holocaust Memorial. It is so simple and still you have goose bumps, if one is on the verge.

  • It is made at the place where the synagogue has stood. On an impressive way bring the empty seats you come back to what happened. And what a terrible way the Jews there have died. Never to be forgotten

  • I visited Leipzig in August 2016 with my wife for three days. We have made two guided city tours and collected much tourist material (brochures, books). Nowhere, we found a single word about the cultural and economic contribution of Leipzig Jews prior to the "Third Reich" yet over their persecution and destruction, and nothing about the existence of this order for payment of meal. Total displacement, one wants to obviously have nothing to do anymore with this darkest chapter of German history. Therefore I rate the Holocaust Memorial here blindly, without having seen it. I'm aware, as a protest against the concealment and as an invitation to those responsible for culture and tourism in Leipzig, Germany, to ensure that a proper theming - without unnecessary tension - takes place. It happened unfortunately once everything, belongs to the history of German and Leipzig, and should not simply be forgotten. Perhaps, I must still say that I myself am not a Jew, but only think that here no further injustice may be done by conscious forgetting.
