Train enthusiasts will enjoy Hauptbahnhof Leipzig, the world's largest railway station (by floor area). Its 24 platforms are the hub of the Central German S-Bahn-system. Railroad buffs and those with an interest in Cold War Germany should head for the display of DR locomotives. Pick up some gifts or a treat for yourself at one of the station's many stores. You'll find plenty of places to get a bite to eat in this architecturally impressive building. • Really beautiful train station. You can find all kinds of shops there. The station is really huge so it can be a bit difficult to find your trains.

  • This us the second station in Germany that I have had to give 1 star for. The staff are very unfriendly, I had a ticket for the first class lounge, which for no reason they wouldn't allow me in. I...

  • Leipzig's main train station is the largest European terminus and with the “Hauptbahnhof-Promenaden” offers a modern shopping, service and service center. Here you can enjoy a spectacular ambience. In addition, a large variety of products invites you to shop. 142 shops are located on three levels in the Promenaden Hauptbahnhof. This means that the train station is much more than just an arrival and departure point. It is the central point of contact for shopping as well as for day trips to downtown Leipzig. City parking, with 1,300 parking spaces available, spread over two multi-storey car parks, makes the shopping experience easier for drivers.
  • Beautiful station! Lots of shopping and food options that even open on Sundays (Not all, but considering Germany). The S Bahn platform is a nice idea, but way too crowded on the rush hour. Maybe they should consider longer trains?
  • Awesome architecture. Probably One of the largest train station I have visited in Germany. The shopping mall on the 1st floor has many restaurants and cafes. Plenty of options to choose from.
  • Great place to shop and chill. I loved the Iced cappuccino of Coffee Fellows
  • Supermarket cum mall cum mainstation. Whatever u don't find anywhere u will get here. Very nicely done, lot of eating and shopping options. Very well done.
