4.3
#2 of 15 in Museums in Leipzig
History Museum Specialty Museum
Bach-Museum Leipzig celebrates the life and works of German classical music legend Johann Sebastian Bach. Pick up an audio guide and immerse yourself in the interactive exhibits. Sit at the various listening stations to hear your choice of Bach compositions. In one room, you can pick out particular instruments you'd like to highlight. Study Bach's genealogy and listen to the music that his family made. Although few of Bach's personal items still exist today, this museum showcases his manuscripts, family Bibles, and his organ. The onsite cafe comes well-recommended. Put Bach-Museum Leipzig at the forefront of your travel plans using our Leipzig family vacation planner.

  • Modern and interactive museum about Bachs life and work in Leipzig. Not only for Bach fans. For all who love music.
  • Bach lover or not... This is a must see museum in Leipzig. Holds different temporary exhibitions which are very interesting. To mention the vault, where you can gaze at original portraits. On the upper floor there are multimedia points and you can listen to whatever work you choose at your heart's content. Apart the shop there is a very nice café too. My only regret was that I hadn't the opportunity to see an original manuscript by the composer.
  • Very well-curated museum for those who are interested in Bach. Audio guide included, free lockers, and a great mix of interactive exhibits with artifacts on display. Treasure room was a particular favourite!
  • They include a free audio guide in English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and Mandarin. Interactive displays. Not very large, but lots of oppertunity to go in depth. 8€ a person to have everything included is a good price. All the staff speaks fluent English. Definately a must see in Leipzig.
  • Small and nice musseum that reflect the relation of Bach and the city.
