4.3
#2 of 22 in Museums in Leipzig
Bach Museum celebrates the life and works of German classical music legend Johann Sebastian Bach. Pick up an audio guide and immerse yourself in the interactive exhibits. Sit at the various listening stations to hear your choice of Bach compositions. In one room, you can pick out particular instruments you'd like to highlight. Study Bach's genealogy and listen to the music that his family made. Although few of Bach's personal items still exist today, this museum showcases his manuscripts, family Bibles, and his organ. • WiFi, history, music. There was not much knowledge of Bach before, and there was certainly a certain understanding after the visit. The museum is not conspicuous, but the exhibits are very distinctive. The most important thing is that the speech has Chinese, very good!

  • A House (family friends Bose of BAch at the time) entirely restored in German, that is thoroughly what makes it beautiful and comfortable, but what remains - there authenticity? Not really of collections, a minimum museography for elitists and crazy aficionados of the Cantor... Otherwise not much. We don't feel much. The emotion is in front, Thomas Kirche or further to the Nikolaiskirche where less harm is to imagine Bach and his musicians. In short a very mixed impression. The shop is skinny, hard also to buy a CD of Bach... so little on the shelves.

  • Leipzig is not necessarily for what to do at the top of the list. Germany, how far a sense of Museology in you can see the evidence. The music can be nested. Is great!!!

  • Really great museum. Not very big though. You can spend some quality time there, learn about Bach's life and enjoy his music. The museum is very interactive. You get an audio guide, available in various languages, upon entering. There is a coat room and free of charge lockers in the enterance hall. The museum is free of charge on first Tuesday of the month. On that day the audio guide is also free of charge. Highly recommended!
  • The museum does a excellent job displaying and documenting artifacts, esp the original scores and letters. The narrative of Bach's life is also well done, but the musical exhibits are underwhelming. No coherent attempt is made to give meaning or interpretation to the music you can listen to, beyond the basic distinctions of baroque music which you can read on wikipedia.
  • The museum couldn't have been better. The exposition of Bach's private life and exquisite connection with Luther was on point. Each era of his life was depicted accordingly through his literature, compositions and influence on the city of Leipzig.
  • Fascinating and incredibly well-researched exhibits on the life and works of the world's most celebrated composer.
  • Great museum documenting Bach's life and music. Incredible detail and research. Take the free audio guide.
