Trausnitz Castle, Landshut

(4.6/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Steeped in history and offering unbeatable views of the city, Trausnitz Castle was built in the 13th century and once served as the official seat of the hereditary rulers of Bavaria. The castle is mostly noted for including the so-called "chamber of art and curiosities," a room that can best be described as the precursor of today's museums. The castle's renowned chamber contains works of arts, treasures from the Orient, and curiosities typical of the collections owned by rulers in the Renaissance era, such as small carvings of plum stones, stuffed animals, minerals, corals, and scientific instruments of the 15th century. Several of the castle's grand rooms can be booked for special events and are often used for conferences and concerts. Check online for opening times and available guided tours. • One was located at Cinderella. The castle is in very nice condition, where the ascent with the car is more likely to recommend. Especially in the winter you will feel like a fairy tale.

  • We visited the castle in early February, and once again noted to myself special delights to travel in low season. From the top of the castle walls offer stunning views of the city, which itself deserves the rave reviews

  • Fantastic place to visit! Terrible place to try and siege.
  • Cool place with nice views
  • The best castle ever
  • Nice view over Landshut and surrounding area.
  • Very quiet, historic town with charm. The views are beautiful, especially when you know the right corners. Mostly only isolated individuals / couples are there, what makes for some rest and relaxation. The cookie is usually not crowded. From the top you can see the city and the annual Dult optimally. Especially after sunset shines the city in beautiful lights coming from above very nicely to the validity.
