  • This castle was built in the middle of the 13th century by the Archbishop of Mainz and is on a number of damage after reasonable remained intact. It has an impressive past, that is that here, in the 14th century, the last exiled Knights Templar a fight to their deaths. Tours last about 45 minutes and cost 6 euro (children 5 euros) per person, which is more than worth it.

  • Lanek Castle was built in the 13th century the archbishops of Mainz on a steep cliff near the confluence of the river Lahn in the Rhine. The castle was strategically important, so it continuously, enhance the archbishops extended and enhanced is the result of their efforts has survived pretty well and looks great. • The castle looks beautiful but you'll get a tour only once per every other day or so. So I only got that picture through the fence in the gates window.
  • Amazing views of the landscape but not of the castle. Better to see it from the other side of the river.
  • Excellent campsite, very clean & wonderful views.
  • Very nice tour through the Castle. Nice restaurant. Beautiful view to the Rhine Valley
