(Keep your ticket handy in the off chance that security asks you to present it.) The zoo provides you with snacks so you can get up close and personal with the meerkats, camels, goats, and giraffes. The area is made up of the maze of large pens cut through with pathways. Animals wander through the pens freely, so it feels as if only a fence separates you from the Serengeti. • Some enclosures were a bit small in our view. Also for the admission price of €14 for an adult relatively high compared to other zoos in major cities.

  • After I was no longer there the last 10 years we used this weekend immediately - felt - first warm day of the year for a visit. What struck directly was that we were not the only ones who had this great idea. Unfortunately the Zoo had not opened the commonly available open space for parking so that the parking lot search took about 40 minutes. A great start on a muddy parking lot. After all, the car park is free of charge. Yes finally arrived at the Zoo and the first endless snake overcome a Division expects a first to the warm goats and the access to the Giraffenhaus be. The actual area of the Zoo starts 200 only ca m. below the slope. Here it is again, to check only to his already validated card again. At this point it comes back even if it chooses to take the corresponding circuit. I will no longer understand why this is necessary in this life. The animal highlights at the Zoo include elephants, giraffes, and a Cheetah. This separate him from a farm... Most of the enclosures and aviaries are dark, small and incredibly boring. Usually also full of carrots that inclined visitors to throw any animal seem, that they see. Almost all animals can be thanks to the pitched just poorly or did not take pictures. Fences or hedges in the way are constantly. Especially when the Cheetah enclosure this is striking. Only two reasonably transparent glass panes allow the look. Other parks solve this significantly more attractive for humans and animals. Not a single enclosure inspired me to a photo. 10 KG equipment completely free dragged along. The brought dogs were what I would have to shoot but en masse. These were not at all exhausting to happiness. For dog noses, there are probably less relaxing than 200 new scents at once... Why the hell take with his dog at the Zoo? The most time we spent for the benefit of our 125 cm tall companion, on the playground. This is completely ok but now no reason which would justify the arrival. I don't really understand what drives again and again in the Opel Zoo families. Steep paths that push the stroller to the agony make, animals you can see distance from Frankfurt in more beautiful backdrop and seems a total concept to be trimmed on the total boredom elsewhere in 30 minutes. If one of the trail out to the playground again would you must be by the way once again in the aforementioned snake... The Opel Zoo seems to me as a relic from days in which passed a lot is well intentioned, implementation however has much potential in many places to the top. A marketing as outdoor playground with a surprisingly high percentage of animal would be more honest. With a (already discounted) admission price €32 for 2E + 1 K this is really not a bargain. For those who are looking for outlet for children or animals in the area around Frankfurt, the Pheasantry in Steinheim and the Zoo in Frankfurt were suggested. Both offer also for the inclined photographers to lengths better opportunities. Was really a shame that us was when it would sometimes deliberately difficult made the visitors... I can not recommend Schorsch Opel's legacy with the best will. Only the lady that wondering why the ostrich chewed the carrot before the swallow, lit up the day. So much wrong in a thought...

  • This is a great size and if you have children there is a big play area and a good size petting zoo. Many different kinds of animals to see and feed.  more »

  • Small, privately held, zoo with a familiar athmosphere. Great for kids, huge petting zoo. Prices are a bit steep, but fair, considering the zoo isn't subsidized by the state or community. If you live close by, consider getting an annual ticket.
  • Small and really nothing much to see.. Not worth the trip with kids..and definitely not for these prices. The petting zoo was nice but i can just buy a goat with that money! The poor elephants look really tired old and thin, they need a better environment!!
  • Nice enough zoo, but others in the Same price Range offer Way more in animal variety as we'll as spaces to Relax(e.g. the Wilhelma in Stuttgart)
  • Very nice park in hilly terrain, lots of space for visitors and animals. Everything is in great shape and up-to-date including the great restaurant overlooking the elephant area.
  • Great open zoo where you can feed the animals.
