Zoo / Aquarium
A private zoo with resident animals that roam in relative freedom, Opel-Zoo immerses you in the African plains. Join a guided tour, or purchase an individual ticket. (Keep your ticket handy in the off chance that security asks you to present it.) The zoo provides you with snacks so you can get up close and personal with the meerkats, camels, goats, and giraffes. The area is made up of the maze of large pens cut through with pathways. Animals wander through the pens freely, so it feels as if only a fence separates you from the Serengeti. Visit the cafe terrace that looks out over the elephant area so you can watch these noble creatures at play while you enjoy a cold beer. • I really like this Zoo. Compared to other, bigger Zoos, this one appears to be more family-friendly and not packed full of animals (while there are still a lot of them!). Many of the enclosures have b...  more »
  • A very nice Zoo. However I must agree with some review donors: the Zoo is not for people with walking difficulties. I had already regard for families with prams. The terrain is very uneven and depending on the temperature, this can be further sporting opportunities. A big praise Gets the elephant plant and also the large African plant for the giraffes. Admission and parking situation were perfectly fine.

  • With the new facilities, the Zoo is really a piece of jewelry. The animals have plenty of room. When looking at the Savannah, you'd think (almost) to be in Africa. No surprise, then, that it is very crowded during typical Zoo weather.

  • Small, privately held, zoo with a familiar athmosphere. Great for kids, huge petting zoo. Prices are a bit steep, but fair, considering the zoo isn't subsidized by the state or community. If you live close by, consider getting an annual ticket.
  • Small and really nothing much to see.. Not worth the trip with kids..and definitely not for these prices. The petting zoo was nice but i can just buy a goat with that money! The poor elephants look really tired old and thin, they need a better environment!!
  • Nice enough zoo, but others in the Same price Range offer Way more in animal variety as we'll as spaces to Relax(e.g. the Wilhelma in Stuttgart)
  • Very nice park in hilly terrain, lots of space for visitors and animals. Everything is in great shape and up-to-date including the great restaurant overlooking the elephant area.
  • Great open zoo where you can feed the animals.
