Opel Zoo, Kronberg im Taunus
(4.2/5 based on 220+ reviews on the web)
A private zoo with resident animals that roam in relative freedom, Opel Zoo immerses you in the African plains. Join a guided tour, or purchase an individual ticket. (Keep your ticket handy in the off chance that security asks you to present it.) The zoo provides you with snacks so you can get up close and personal with the meerkats, camels, goats, and giraffes. The area is made up of the maze of large pens cut through with pathways. Animals wander through the pens freely, so it feels as if only a fence separates you from the Serengeti. Visit the cafe terrace that looks out over the elephant area so you can watch these noble creatures at play while you enjoy a cold beer. • Especially the elephant system is adequate. The animals have a place here and varied terrain. The Petting Zoo is appealing for visitors with young children. In addition, the birdcage with Lake offers many flight animals space elsewhere dipped seen in dirty water. It is good that there are the Opel Zoo and that he is home to larger animals, who find no reasonable place in the Frankfurt Zoo. Still, it takes me to all the caged animals.

  • Small, privately held, zoo with a familiar athmosphere. Great for kids, huge petting zoo. Prices are a bit steep, but fair, considering the zoo isn't subsidized by the state or community. If you live close by, consider getting an annual ticket.
  • Small and really nothing much to see.. Not worth the trip with kids..and definitely not for these prices. The petting zoo was nice but i can just buy a goat with that money! The poor elephants look really tired old and thin, they need a better environment!!
  • Nice enough zoo, but others in the Same price Range offer Way more in animal variety as we'll as spaces to Relax(e.g. the Wilhelma in Stuttgart)
  • Very nice park in hilly terrain, lots of space for visitors and animals. Everything is in great shape and up-to-date including the great restaurant overlooking the elephant area.
  • Great open zoo where you can feed the animals.
