Set in Lake Constance, Isle of Mainau overflows with parks and historic sites. • ... even if I hit particularly the playground for the kids! :-) Many eateries are closed due to the low turnout, there's virtually no flowers, as well as all the "flowering sculpture" from which you can see the skeletons, but the misty atmosphere of the Lake, the views, the peacefulness of the place still worth the trip. Of course the price of the ticket is reduced during this period. Makes you want to go back to see what it's like in the summer!

  • On this island you will find his favorite cookies. During our stay it was super warm children enjoyed themselves long on the great playground. Then, we have cosy picnic and delighted us on flora and fauna. Absolutely worth seeing in combination with shipping...

  • What a beautiful place. Has plants from all over the world and a fabulous Butterfly Garden. Visited in late April 2016
  • Spectacular place to wander and explore the gardens. There were less flowers than I expect expected, but that would vary according to the season. We arrived at the island by boat from Meersburg, and this added to the overall experience.
  • Love these botanical gardens. So much to see and do and the perfect day out. Well organised, with a great kids playground and stunning floral displays it's wonderful to explore. The butterfly house is a huge hit with our toddler and the rose garden and excellent on site bakery offered a lovely bit of respite. We'll definitely be back.
  • Beautiful, albeit pretty expensive, great for a cozy sightseeing and nature spotting. Be sure to take the ferry across the lake, it's a fantastic experience
  • Great place to visit if you want something to do for the day. Great for photographers.
