  • If you're visiting Drachenfels, take the tram up at least! Walking back down is ok but it's quite a hike to the top.  more »
  • Interesting little railway wi beautiful house and gardens halfway up the mountain. At the summit the view is beautiful I all directions. Highly recommended  more »
  • The old carriages are cute from the outside but have very small seats. They run as little as half hourly, leading to crowding. Still, it saves a long walk to the top and a combined ticket covering the...  more »

  • This is the "must-see" hill (mountain?) of the whole region. The best views of the whole region. The little cog railway gets you to the top and next to an excellent restaurant there is the spectacular viewing platform as well as the old ruin of the Drachenfels. A 10min walk down you reach the ~125 year old Drachenfels Castle, a former home that is also worth visiting.
  • What a great way to make it to the top (and back) if you don't want to take the long long hike. Great views in a classic train. Nice prices as well.
  • Very cool place to visit especially on a sunny day. The hike up is not easy but u can take a nice funicular
  • Faster and easier way to reach the castle and the drachenfels ruins. On a sunny day there is usually a long queue
  • The castle not that far from the bottom station. I would suggest to use this train only if you don't have time. Walking up will not take more than 25 minutes and you can also enjoy the nature during your walk
